This mode makes the RS3000 act like a flash disk and stores the batched bar code into a file. When the RS3000 is connected to a USB cable and plugged into a computer, then a window will pop up asking if you want to browse the files stored. Any bar codes stored will show up in the SCANNED.TXT file. The Firmware: Mass Storage Device Application must be loaded on the RS3000 in order to enable this mode of operation. To install the Storage Application, follow these [[#Firmware_Loading|firmware loading]] instructions. Once the storage application is loaded, print and scan [http://opticonfigure.opticon.com/sl/?z=Fi&a=4&b=0&d=1 this] sheet of barcodes to configure the device to act as a flash disk.

Once that's finished, scanning bar codes is as simple as pressing a button. When you want to download your bar code scans, plug the RS3000 into a computer, and copy the text file out of the flash drive. In particular, the very last page has barcodes that can be scanned to configure the layout of the text file.

The OPN2001 Simulation is a batch mode that uses the Companion Application to download the barcodes into a text or csv file. Our Companion Application OPN200x is available for free in the Downloads section below.
