The PHL-1300 is one of Opticon's intelligent terminal devices. It runs a proprietary Operating System and requires a cradle for charging and data transfer.

Upgrading

The PHL-1300 runs both an Operating System and an Application. The OS provides the core functionality but does nothing that the user can see. The Application is where all of the menu's and button features are built. It is necessary to upgrade both in many cases. Appload is required to load software onto the PHL-1300.

Operating System

  • Download the latest OS from the Downloads section above.
  • Set the dip switches on the cradle to be in auto mode. See the IRU-1300 page for these instructions.
  • Connect the IRU-1300 cradle to both power and the RS232 cable to the PC.
  • Power off the PHL-1300
  • While off press together [S] + [ENT] + [PW] to enter "OS LOADER" mode.
  • Follow the Loading Firmware instructions on the Appload page.
    • Use cradle type IRU1300 cradle when configuring Appload.

Application

  • Download the latest Application from the Downloads section above.
  • Set the dip switches on the cradle to be in auto baudrate. See the IRU-1300 page for these instructions.
  • Connect the IRU-1300 cradle to both power and the RS232 cable to the PC.
  • Power off the PHL-1300
  • While off press together [.] + [1] + [PW] to enter the OS System Menu.
  • Scroll to Download Appl. and press [ENT].
  • Follow the Loading Firmware instructions on the Appload page.
    • Use cradle type IRU1300 cradle when configuring Appload.
