Bluetooth Laser Barcode Scanner with GPS, and 3-key Operation

The OPL9813, a Bluetooth™ laser scanner from Opticon, features GPS, a real-time clock and easy 3-key operation for data-capture applications that require location and time stamps, as well as data entry. The OPL9813 is perfect for inventory, logistics, warehouse and retail applications. Since the OPL9813 is programmable, channel partners can create custom solutions around the OPL9813 using the free SDK from Opticon.

The OPL9813 can transmit data via Bluetooth™ connection, or store data onboard for later transfer via IrDA through a charging cradle (sold separately). The charging cradle is available with a serial, modem or GSM interface. OPL9813 product highlights include:

Firmware Loading Instructions

  1. Update Appload (Load.dll)
    • Open Appload. Open the About box. Note the path shown for LoadDLL location.
    • Copy Load.dll version EGF3409H (2.0.17.0) or newer there.
    • Close Appload.
  2. Print the label sheet here.
  3. Program the OPL9813
    • Attach a charged battery to the OPL9813.
    • Scan the +-DOWNLOAD-+ at the bottom of the sheet. The unit should beep and show a flashing red LED.
    • Drop the unit in the cradle and drag the OS file (XBNV0101c.hex or newer) onto Appload to program the OS.
    • After the OS is finished programming, you can immediately drag the Application file (XFNS0841.hex or newer) to program the application.
    • After the application finishes, the unit will beep annoyingly.
    • Scan the serial number label on the box to stop the beeping and load the id number.
