    + *With the device powered off, hold [S] and [ENT], and then press [PW] to enter OS Download Mode.  
    + *Start [[Appload]] on your PC, and in the Settings menu, change the IrDA Adapter/Cradle type to "No Cradle," and choose the correct COM port for the PHL-2700.  
    + *Extract the file in the OS download from above, and drag and drop that file onto the Appload window to start the download. If everything is working, the PHL and Appload will show a percentage to indicate the progress of the download.

    + *Before beginning, the cradle's baud rate must be set to 115200 (Dip switches:1 ON, 2 OFF, 3 OFF, 4 OFF, 5 ON, 6 ON). The dip switches are located under a small plastic cover on the bottom of the cradle, and can be switched on or off using a fingernail, a paperclip, or a ballpoint pen.
