The Operating System Exposes the functions of the hardware to the Application level firmware, and the Application determines how the device behaves. The Operating System is developed and maintained solely by Opticon, however anyone can make an application for the PHL1600 using using Opticon's C-Library Kit and the "Software Development Tools MCCM77 C Compiler package" made by Microtec™ Research.
