The PHL-1300 is one of Opticon's intelligent terminal devices. It runs a proprietary Operating System and requires a cradle for charging and data transfer.

The PHL-1300 runs both an Operating System and an Application. The OS provides the core functionality but does nothing that the user can see. The Application is where all of the menu's and button features are built. It is necessary to upgrade both in many cases. [[Appload]] is required to load software onto the PHL-1300.
