This mode makes the OPN-6000 act like a flash disk and stores the batched bar code into a file by scanning the configuration code [https://opticonfigure.opticon.com/configure?scanner=OPN6000&type=2D&i=0&pdf=A4&sheet=W1siQzA0Il1d barcode sheet]. When the RS3000 is connected to a USB cable and plugged into a computer, then a window will pop up asking if you want to browse the files stored. Any bar codes stored will show up in the SCANNED.TXT file.

Once that's finished, scanning bar codes is as simple as pressing a button. When you want to download your bar code scans, plug the RS3000 into a computer, and copy the text file out of the flash drive. For more configuration options, see the [http://ftp.opticonusa.com/Downloads/OPN6000/OPN6000%20User%20Manual.pdf User Manual Storage Application]. In particular, the very last page has barcodes that can be scanned to configure the layout of the text file.

It is also possible to use the OPN-6000 as a wired cabled scanner, both USB-HID and USB-VCP are supported. Similar to any other cabled USB scanner. USB-VCP can also be used to load new scanner firmware to the scanner using Appload.
