  After the OPL-9724 has been paired with the PC, its use is relatively simple.     + If you are trying to use an OPL9724 to transmit barcode data in real time to an android device then use these instructions. The following sections will guide you through the initial out-of-box setup for Real-time Scanning Mode on the OPL-9724.  
       
    + ===On your Andorid device (Part 1)===  
    + To configure your Android device to connect to your OPL9724 follow the steps below. The specific menu navigation steps may differ with different implimentations or versions of the Android operating system.  
    + #Install OpticonRL and OpticonRL Software Keyboard from the Android Marketplace.  
    + #Navigate to Menu-> Settings->About device-> Status  
    + #You should see the Bluetooth address of the Android device, write this down or otherwise take note of it.  
    + #Tap back twice or otherwise navigate back to Menu-> Settings then select Locale and text-> Select input method  
    + #Select OpticonRL Soft Keyboard  
    + #Tap back once or otherwise navigate back to Menu->Settings then Select Wireless and Network-> Select Bluetooth Settings  
    + #You should now be able to see the Bluetooth Settings  
    + #If Bluetooth is not checked then please select Bluetooth to turn the device's bluetooth module on.  
       
    + ===On the OPL9724===  
    + #These instructions assume you are using the most recent Firmware OS and Firmware Application. If you are not then please update the firmware using the instructions in the [https://wiki.opticonusa.com/techsupport/en/Special:Edit#Loading_Firmware Loading Firmware] section above.  
    + #Press and hold all three buttons to access the OS System Menu. In the OS System Menu you can navigate up and down by pressing the '1' and '2' buttons, and you can select options by pressing the center key.  
    + #Toggle down, and select "Input PINcode".  
    + #Input and submit a PIN code; to ensure the best compatiblity across devices I recommend using the PIN code 0000. When selecting a PIN code, press 1 to change the value of the character, press 2 to move the cursor to the next character, and press trigger to submit the PIN code.  
    + #Toggle down, and select "Input address".  
    + #Press 1 to select Manual  
    + #Input and submit the Bluetooth address of your android device. When entering a Bluetooth address, press 1 to change the value of the character, press 2 to move the cursor to the next character, and press trigger to submit the Bluetooth address.  
    + #Toggle down, and select "Restart".  
    + #Select 2 for Real Time.  
    + #Press any key to continue.  
    + #Press the center key for Scan labels.  
    + #Select Master when prompted.  
       
    + ===On your Andorid device (Part 2)===  
    + #We left the Bluetooth setting menu open on your Android device. Select "Visible" to make your Android device discoverable.  
    + #A Bluetooth pairing request will pop up, enter the PIN code you used on your OPL9724, then select OK.  
    + #*You may receive the same Bluetooth pairing request message twice. This is okay, simply enter your pin code again.  
    + #*If you see the message "Bluetooth Error press any key" on the OPL9724, you may have waited to long to enter the pin code on the Android device, or you may not be using the same PIN code on your OPL9724 as on your Android device. Verify your PIN code, then attempt to pair once again.  
    + #Navigate to any application with a text field, and scan an available barcode to verify that you have successfully set up OpticonRL for Android.
