Version Differences for BlackBerry

Line 1:
    + BlackBerry is a product line manufactured by the company Research In Motion (RIM). The BlackBerry product lines includes the BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet, and a variety of BlackBerry smartphones. Opticon manufactures and sells a variety of Bluetooth capable smart phones that can be used with the BlackBerry PlayBook and/or BlackBerry smartphones.

    + ==Blackberry PlayBook==
    + ===Using the OPN2002 in Bluetooth HID mode with the BlackBerry PlayBook===
    + Follow the instructions on this Quick Start Guide to pair the OPN2002 can pair with the BlackBerry PlayBook as a Bluetooth HID (keyboard) device. Minimum OPN2002 firmware version for BlackBerry Playbook compatibility is RBGV0221.

    + ==BlackBerry Smartphones==
    + Blackberry smartphones do not currently support Bluetooth HID, however they do support Bluetooth SPP so Opticon created and distributes OpticonRL for Blackberry. OpticonRL is an application that converts barcode data coming over a serial port into key presses. Since the majority of our products support Bluetooth SPP this can be especially useful. In effect, the barcode data is wedged into whatever application is at the forefront and has text focus, as if it were typed. BlackBerry OS revisions are not typically backwards compatible subsequently Opticon has made new versions of OpticonRL each time BlackBerry has developed a new Operating System.
